SCLogic’s Intra platform has been a go-to solution for in-building logistics for many years now. Our clients have enjoyed the distinct features of our platform, from the intuitive user interfaces to the unique intelligent routing and sorting logic. Over the years, we’ve released version updates to our software, with each iteration yielding more significant improvements in system power and usability. Today we’re at the precipice of change yet again, as the release of our new update, Intra Version 8, is ever so close.

When it comes to Intra V8, our company has specific goals to enhance the user experience over the coming year. After our initial rollout of the new version, you can look forward to SCLogic releasing the following features and working to meet some additional goals that we’ve outlined below.

New Features in the Client Services Portal/Web Portal (CSP)

Intra V8 adopters can expect the following planned feature updates:

• Greater personalization – Built-in themes such as dark mode, more layout options, customizable background colors and images, and the ability for individuals to save custom reports for future use.
• Easier communication – Add item comments, feedback on tasks and jobs, item attachments, and the ability to split up Service Request Forms into multiple sub-tasks.
• Full Support – Desktop Client and Management Console, including a print agent and locker reservations.

The Road Ahead: A Closer Look at Our Goals for V8

Let’s take a look at the goals we have for further development of Intra Version 8.

Mobile-First Design

Intra Version 8 marks a historical change in our software implementation, as it represents our first development focused primarily on the mobile experience. Our first goal is to ensure that Intra Version 8 behaves well on tablets and handheld forms, so it is as useful in the field as in the main office. Better use of white space and expandable/collapsible rows in the Advanced Search grid should lend to more fluid navigation within both the handheld and desktop settings.

A User Interface to Meet the Modern Era

Our second goal in this updated version of our signature platform is to meet the moment and ensure that the Intra user interface provides a great look and feel and is also sensible and approachable. We aim to provide a fresh yet familiar experience, so you can happily continue working on the CSP without the aggravation of getting acquainted with a foreign workspace.

Increases in Performance and Safety

Some of the benefits of this update revolve around the issues of performance and safety. Our third goal is to ensure that any issues that threaten performance or safety can be addressed and solved quickly. From the beginning, our process involved changing frameworks, which meant starting from scratch and rebuilding the CSP from the ground up. As a result, our product is now faster, more reliable, and more capable of growing with your needs and processes. As with past iterations, Intra Version 8 will provide a top-notch user experience based on strong performance, the ability to create new features, and faster fixes when bugs do pop up.

Making the Transition Smooth

While we are excited to release all of these tech treats in the future, we want to assure our current users that your transition from V7 to V8 will be smooth and easy. To achieve a seamless transition between versions, we have made V8 backward compatible with V7 by keeping the features and functionality between the two about the same. The last thing we want to happen is to put a bunch of cool new features in that wind up breaking your processes because your current version can’t support them! But don’t worry, we still managed to add some nifty ease of use improvements like drag and drop columns, row width selection, and the ability to filter within the search results grid. Once Version 8.0 is out in the wild, we will begin developing even more new and exciting stuff.
