CA school district proves big savings is just an electricity audit away
If you’ve ever wondered what you could gain from assessing your electricity consumption, this might be the story that pushes you to act. A CA-based school district called Escalon Unified did just that and is now celebrating a district-wide energy program that is set to save “$15.3 million in energy savings over the program lifetime, 1,628 metric tons of CO2 emission offset in the program’s first year (the equivalent to removing 349 cars from the road), and an 85% reduction in district electricity costs.”
Not only that, they are taking the money saved and funneling it into sustainability-focused educational programs. Not only are they making strides to improve their current environmental situation, they are investing in both the future of their children and community.
